Beaufort Castles

A medieval castle ruin and a Renaissance castle side by side.

The ruins of the medieval fortress stand next to a Renaissance castle completed in 1649. Together they show how castle life changed from defence to comfort. Beaufort is also known for Cassero, a blackcurrant liqueur made here, and lies on the edge of the Mullerthal hiking area.
